Ana Borralho and João Galante question a group of young adults about the issue of happiness. The definition of happiness varies from one individual to another, it can be a mental state, a state of satisfaction, of well-being… How can we be happy? And above all, how can we be happy in a society that is not? What matters most to both artists are the replies by these young adults for whom the future is usually uncertain.
Trigger of Happiness is a participatory performance that questions and puts on stage a group of people, their dreams, their expectations in a period of their lives made up of stress, pressure, conflicts, risks, challenges, research on identity, new experiences… Beyond that, the performance questions our ability to accept and live change.
Ana Borralho and João Galante are curators, artistic directors of the casaBranca structure and the Verão Azul festival, and stage creators especially. They made their work with communities a unique journey that is always original, which deeply reflects the presence of amateurs on stage, and helps us know what the youths born since the 2000s think, what they live, what they dream.
A piece that is presented at the Teatro Principal in Santiago after working for more than a week with local teenagers.
AT THE END OF THE PIECE, AN OPEN CONVERSATION WILL BE CARRIED OUT WITH THE TEENAGERS PARTICIPATING IN THE WORK
