MDLSX is an autobiographical piece with a single performer, Silvia Calderoni. The actress gives life to an androgynous being who questions barriers between genders. An animal in a trance that the New York Times described with passion in its criticism: “Silvia Calderoni must be made of mercury or some other liquid element that has not yet been discovered. Surely, no body of mortal flesh can undergo the unpredictable transformations that this remarkable performer achieves in MDLSX, a work of coding of perceptions by MOTUS, the troupe of the revolutionary theatre”. And as Paul B. Preciado says: “The necessary change is so profound that it is said to be impossible. So profound that it is said to be unimaginable. But the impossible is yet to come. And the unimaginable is deserved”.
Taking as a starting point the music of his life, Calderoni tells us how he discovered his body, his childhood and his adolescence. He tells us everything. And it is a life that undoubtedly deserves to be told, an unclassifiable, deeply dissident, joyful, intelligent, and political life.
