Black Through Red
Reinaldo RibeiroA ritual, a drift, a relationship at a distance and in time through the colour red.
A space to show subjectivity. Political, personal and poetic.
Reinaldo Ribeiro starts from Bosch’s O xardín das delicias to create his own triptych. A triptych that questions the representation of the black body in the arts in general, in public and private spaces, in institutions, in artistic creations, in curatorships, in museums.
Black through red, the third chapter of this artistic trilogy, proposes to talk about blackness without falling into the black-white dichotomy. Talking through red.
An encounter in the Galicia Forest, where the artist invites the public to reflect on the relationships between blackness, territory and identity, and all the axes that support these three pillars: migration, periphery, violence, gender perspective, decolonial gaze, narratives and future.
And from there, a commitment is born between both the artist and the spectator, which will be questioned for a whole year, once a month. Twelve months, twelve postcards and twelve different reds that provoke and invite everyone to create/fabricate their own expanded work.
Meeting point: REGA 1 (next to the Gaiás Centre Museum).
