FEAR:LESS

Silke Z. / resistdance

Sunday 10 May 17:30h
City of Culture | Gaiás Centre Museum, Room 1

The escalation of various acute global crises seems to be increasingly condensing into a collective state of fear and shaping human behaviour in the process. fear:less explores the social conditions of fear and questions the role of the body within this context.

How much uncertainty can a body endure?
Does touch become a risk?
Are we losing our sense of connection to one another?

In a relentless and challenging pas de deux, dancers Dmitrijus Andrušanecas and Hanna Held seek an intense physical connection with each other. They surrender themselves to the other, challenge their counterpart, and resolutely explore what it means to be fear:less.

Silke Z.

Silke Z. searches for forward-looking methods of artistic development in contemporary dance. She and her ensemble see dance as an expression of human sensitivities and as a way of making different perspectives visible and initiating discourse. Since 1999, she has led a Cologne-based company that has developed over 40 dance productions in Germany and abroad. She promotes identity-creating participation and innovative mediation formats in contemporary dance and founded the ehrenfeldstudios in Cologne and the international operating network studiotrade.
