LA CALIDESA
Société Mouffette, GREC, COMA14LA CALIDESA presents six stories about solitude and friendship. Six situations of silence and deserted landscapes, characters lost in unwanted places of life, to which the presence and companionship of another person brings a glimmer of light under which to continue.
These six capsules open onto everyday realities in a society where the everyday now encompasses the entire world: migration, the ageing of the global population, international mobility, consumer society models, the commodification of being, and more.
Solitude is silent and advances slowly; sometimes we do not even notice it, yet it gradually occupies spaces – and by the time we become aware of it, the damage is already deep and structural.
LA CALIDESA is a call to care, an alert cast into our lives urging us to reclaim shared spaces and shed light on our own or others’ possible loneliness, to value and strengthen friendship and companionship – those who walk alongside us in life.
NOTE: On the morning of Saturday, May 9, you can meet members of the Comando Dramatúrxico and share a coffee or a drink of your choice while exchanging impressions about your journey through LA CALIDESA.
Société Mouffette and COMA14
The projects of COMA14 and Société Mouffette seek new languages within visual theatre and scenic plastic arts, exploring other forms of communication between the audience and the theatrical event, as well as new poetics of dramaturgy.
This dialogue and collaboration between the Balearic and Madrid-based companies has resulted in three productions: LA DISTANCIA (cápsulas de memoria), a multidisciplinary work that addresses the memory of the months of 2020, when we experienced a lockdown that confined us with our own humanity, confronting us with life; LA CALIDESA (coproduction with the GREC Festival), premiered at Teatre Lliure in July 2025; and CUENTO DE NAVIDAD (Encapsulando a Dickens), winner of the MAX Award for Best Production for Children, Youth or Family Audiences and finalist for Best Adaptation of a Theatrical Work; winner of the 2024 FETEN Award for Best Literary Adaptation and the Drac d’Or Award for Best Family Production.
“Above all these concepts and ways of working lies the belief that there is more truth in the performing arts than in life; that what is awakened in the intimacy of that meeting place is a revolutionary act. Resistance was also this.”
