THE AGEI(ING) BODY, BODY AND VISIBILITY
Julia Sueiro, Silke Z.In line with Escenas do cambio’s commitment to opening its live arts programme to community participation processes, an artistic mediation encounter linked to the piece FEAR:LESS by the creator Silke Z., coordinated by Julia Sueiro, will take place. FEAR:LESS places the body in a space of exposure, risk and relation, where trust, listening and attention to the other become central materials of the artistic process. The combination of creation, research and pedagogy that runs through Silke Z.’s practice, together with her interest in generating intergenerational meeting spaces and exchanges with non-professional participants, connects directly with the intention behind this intensive day of shared experience.
The proposal is conceived as an experience of mediation and shared engagement around contemporary creation, combining participation in a workshop, attendance at the performance and shared spaces for contextualization, dialogue and collective reflection. It is addressed to a diverse group of adult participants, with particular attention to older people who do not usually attend contemporary dance. Participants have been selected in collaboration with local organizations, collectives and associations from the Santiago de Compostela area.
The aim is to facilitate an accessible and situated approach to the piece and its creative processes, encouraging encounters in shared spaces between community members, artists and the festival, and contributing to the development and support of new audiences through direct experience and active participation.
