Suministros is proposed as a working group around what Marcel, the narrator of Proust’s time lost, calls the “second outermost garment”. The objective is to compose the biography of one of the non-human actors involved in the festival Escenas do Cambio 2017. To this purpose, we focus our attention on the basic supplies (water and electricity) that make the event possible. The members of the group will agree among themselves which supply we will address and start to study. The biographical study will combine tracking and notation forms in order to undertake an exhaustive description of the performance of the selected agent who, by nature, participates in all the choreographies. Suministros is, therefore, an attempt to estrange figure from background. Marcel (just like us), confused and astonished by his first theatre experience, makes a cross-cutting description of the phenomenon, focusing his attention on elements considered to be passive and thus indicating their potential. We will also try to give shape to a possible biography of an actor who does not dance, an actor who does not appear to be... a biography of what remains on a second level but in permanent action, like an old pot of hot water hidden on the stage floorboards.

This laboratory is aimed at creators who wish to share the initial stages of a creative process. We will work collectively on a series of tools to help translate the concerns that mobilise the desire to start working on some germinal gestures, gestures of beginning. At the same time, we will teach ways of reading what these gestures are proposing, here or beyond, of the wish or the concern that started them. From speculation to action. From enunciation to the activation of gestures. From the activation of gestures to reading. From reading to re-enunciation. From re-enunciation to an explosion of opportunities. From explosion to relinquishment. Gesture relinquishes the resumption of gesture.
Taller de experimentación con objetos personales

In a process combining action, writing and direction, we will inquire about the possibility of constructing fiction using elements from reality. We will do this starting from the personal stories and memorabilia brought by the participants: letters, family photos, clothes, diplomas, intimate diaries, trophies, drawings, etc. Real materials put into operation to explore the different kinds of fiction each individual can build with their own life. The objects to be studied are the individuals and their histories. The one studying and exhibiting is the same person.
In the second instance, each participant will perform a purification process consisting of selecting, sorting, rearranging, classifying; then displaying, explaining, pointing. The aim is to find series, clusters of objects under various logics. For example: someone chooses to tell his life from the exhibition and narration of his scars; another one exposes, as if in a travelling fair, all the objects he stole in his life; in reading the letters her father wrote to her mother during the military service, a daughter finds the best way to narrate her life story. Manipulation of one’s own history. What is shown? How is it shown? In which order? What is not shown. Which is the specific way each one finds to self-expose on stage? The past as a museum piece. The person as a museum in itself. Porque yo soy tú porque tú eres yo porque somos otros
Practical workshop haunted by Las Invictas
February 6-10 | Museo Centro Gaiás
This workshop will be a more practical than theoretical workshop. Moreover, we will draw from our experiences during this week to draft the poetic-manifest text which will be used to host this workshop. That is, après coup. Après coup literally means “after the blow”. They will start by sharing their tools and work process. They both start with their “stories of the self”. A self that, as Rimbaud well evoked it in his "Lettres du voyant" (Letters of the Visonary) is another. They will also share readings, films, music, gestures, positions... to accompany and nourish their “step towards action”: composition, publication, the manifestation of multiple voices from their stories, emotions, silences and screams.
A voice that is not only words, every gesture is a word, a position – from where does one speak? And how?, for whom, with whom?
To summon/activate the manifestation of such multiple voices from each one of their voices, we will dive into themselves until we reach that sixth sense that cannot be seen, does not smell, does not touch, but is felt. we will go from action to inaction. From immobility to small gestures. We will practice “excited detachment” and martial arts, in their own way, from their “no know-how” and doing it right, like a moment of silence in an orchestra’s performance or an instant of calm in the midst of a gale.
