¿Qué es el agua?

Compañía La Soledad (Marc Caellas & Esteban Feune de Colombi)

Sunday 8th May 10am
Fisterra, City of Culture - Fisterra Cemetery - Langosteira Beach

¿Qué es el agua? (What is water?) — the first work in the Tetralogía de los elementos, is a site-specific homage to the fascinating mystery that water represents in each and every one of its variants.

As it has done on other occasions, La Soledad Company delivers a land theatre offering, a term borrowed from art. Marc Caellas and Esteban Feune de Colombi, founders of the collective, began the first investigations under this new initiative in 2018 in Havana, starting with a reading of “La isla en peso”, a poem by Cuban poet Virgilio Piñera.

From then on, they accumulated journeys, texts and rituals revolving around water, on and off the water, mainly on islands, by the side of a river or in maritime cities. Such was the case of Finisterre, where, after a residency in situ, which was conceived as a result of their participation in Escenas do cambio 2021, they will premiere ¿Qué es el agua? (What is water?). This time, it will be a journey that the spectators will start in Compostela when they board a bus bound for the municipality where the Camino de Santiago is said to officially end.

[PLEASE NOTE: The ticket includes the transfer by bus from the City of Culture complex to Fisterra and back. The audience is advised to bring their headphones for the bus audio performance, although the organisation will have spares. The performance route is not suitable for people who have mobility issues or carry baby buggies].].
